Speaker 1:

Sometimes you're going to have to disrupt the peace to create peace. Does that make sense? I don't even know myself. So let's dive in deeply. Sometimes you're going to have to disrupt the current peace to create peace, because not all peace is peaceful for you. Sometimes the peace has been created so that everyone else is comfortable. I had a conversation with my sister this morning and she is in a new position, or she's got in a new job and it's not feeling peaceful, and we have ideas of what we want, and our ideas come from our perception of how we would act if this was someone else in this situation. This is how I would want them to feel and this is how ideally I would want to feel. And I said to her you, sometimes you have to disrupt the peace to create peace. So you need to go in there and you need to change shit up so that it benefits you, because you know you already know that in the long run, everyone else is going to benefit. If you're peaceful, everyone else is going to benefit, because sometimes you it may be a disruption to the norm because everyone just gets comfortable. People get comfortable in what is how it is. This is how it always been and it's hard to see change when it just is what it is. So now, as a new person in a situation and this is for everyone, not just you know my sister, as we had this conversation you need to go in and be like well, I don't mean no bad vibes. So whatever I bring, whatever disruption I bring, I know in the long run it's going to benefit everybody, as long as you are not walking with bad vibes and you are not bringing bad vibes. Disrupt the peace to create peace and let's keep it moving and let's make a new norm.

Speaker 1:

Hi guys, welcome to a new episode of the so Flippin' Extra podcast, a platform for me to express, explore and connect and be so flippin' extra. Why? I hear you ask Well, babes, this is what brings me joy. So, without further ado, let's get into this episode and let's keep the conversation flowing. So if you guys were here last week, you will know I am on a social media challenge free post a day for 20 days. I think it is day 13, so there are seven days left. So I don't have fell off. There's been a couple of days. I think last sunday I didn't post at all or I done one post, and the reason I didn't it was is because I felt like Sundays are not my posting day. So I said this week I'm a post, I'm a post on the Sunday and see, see how it how it. You know what happens because people are online every day, so you know it is what it is.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes you've got to. If you want to see change, you've got to make changes in it, but it's been. I thought it was going to be super duper easy and it was. It's easier than I thought it would be. But I definitely know that having my friends doing it with me and having some people jump on and let me know how they're getting on has definitely helped, because it's like now I've said, okay, hang on, I started this challenge, I can't be the one that falls off. So it's great to start something and have people behind you. If you're ever going to like giving yourself a challenge, you can do it on your own. But if you can get people that like have the same mindset of you and want the same results as well on the same kind of journeys, definitely bring them in with you and say come on, guys, let's do this together, let together, let's you know, make sure that we're holding each other accountable so that we can keep going.

Speaker 1:

Um, what changes have I noticed since doing the challenge? So I've noticed that, uh, my posts are reaching people that don't usually engage with me, but I've also noticed that my posts are reaching less people. So, where maybe sometimes I would do, I would post like maybe once every few days, which and I wanted to I wanted to start posting more because I do feel like my content has to reach a new audience for where I want to take it. So even the people that were engaging with me, they were just like kind of my friends and family, and I am. I love you guys. You guys are amazing. Thank you very much. But I definitely do think I need a new audience to kind of really monetize, because those that know and love me aren't actually buying anything from me. They just love my content, because my content bangs. But a baby girl gotta make some money out here, honey. So, yeah, um, we, we're moving. We're moving the content slightly and I'm getting more confidence to actually post stuff that I wouldn't have usually posted.

Speaker 1:

So, even old events that I maybe didn't post when they first came around and old workshops that I'd done, I never posted them and I never gave them the highlight that they needed. So now it's just like, well, I need a post. Ok, cool, I'm going to post this event that I'd done five like, not five. This event I'd done two years ago and it's getting the same love that it would have gotten then, which is really great. What I do know is that my people want to see me win. So you know, when I post an event, whether it was done two years ago, last year, last week they love to see it. They love it for me. So, with that said, we've got one more week to go, so it'd be interesting to see how, how this week goes. I've not got a viral post yet from it, um, but I don't feel like I wasn't expecting a viral post, because I don't feel like I've posted anything viral where actually I'm lying. I posted some of my old upcycles and they haven't gone viral. What's what's wrong with you lot? You're all right anyways, we'll see. We've got another week left.

Speaker 1:

I've decided to slightly change the format. I don't even know what I'm talking about. There never is any format to this podcast, is there? It really is random as hell. But I've decided to change the format in my head of how I'm going to deliver you guys information. So usually I would wait to the end to give you, to tell you what events are coming up and stuff and good news stories, but I decided I'm going to put it in mid, mid episode just in case, like you guys leave before the end, right, because the rest of the podcast after the good news stories is juicy. So anyway, good News Stories.

Speaker 1:

I have become an ambassador for a brand called Nestes. So basically what Nestes are is they're a small company and they are going to be showcasing at the Clean and Tidy Home Show, which is no longer called the Clean and Tidy Home Show, and I should know because I am a host on the Clean and Tidy Home Show. But home and you, but okay, what was the Clean and Tidy Home Show? Nest? Nest are going to be there this year. So they were ever so kind to give me some of their products.

Speaker 1:

So the laundry basket and I love this laundry basket. They got two. I think they got two sizes of the laundry basket one which is just one laundry basket and one that is a laundry basket with two sections inside so you can have the lights and the darks or the colors and darks or however you want to do it. But when you flip open the laundry basket it has the, basically the cleaning instructions, construction. So you know when you have the tags in your clothes that has, you know, full E, and the washing basket and all the you know hand, the hand wash thing it has tells you what they all mean. So it's a really cool basket and it just looks really neat. It's like neat and tidy.

Speaker 1:

So they sent me that as well as the handy mop, which is a handheld, a handheld mop kind of thing to you know to clean up. But but what I love about is that the spray bottle is attached to the device so you press the spray and wipe and then the pads can go in the washing machine and it can be reused. So it's screaming sustainability, which we love around here. And then you have the spray mop, which is the floor mop thing and it's basically the same thing but in a with a long handle, so like to clean the floors, to clean the walls, to clean you know whatever skirting boards and all of that stuff. But again it has the changeable pads so that you can put them in the machine when you finish with them and reuse them. So I really love it, and the people behind Nessess are absolutely amazing, so it's really great to work with them. But also, by the end of the week, I became an ambassador for them, so I'm one of their new ambassadors.

Speaker 1:

And if you listen to this podcast, you know I'm not sure how long their sale is for, but they do have a bank holiday sale. So hopefully you listen to this on Sunday, or I'm not sure how long their sale is for, but they do have a bank holiday sale, so hopefully you listen this on Sunday or Sunday. Monday their sale should be. And yeah, you can get a discount and I have a discount code because I'm an ambassador which is danny d-a-n-i. 10, so make sure you use that for extra discount off.

Speaker 1:

And then just two other pieces of information to tell you guys. Is that I have two? No, I have a workshop coming up. It is in June, so I will still give you, like maybe, I guess three more episodes of reminding you if you want to attend this workshop. It is going to be, uh, like a patch making workshop and it is with the fashion district and that is on the 8th of June and it is in Spitfields, and then I'm also going to be on the panel at the Good Clothes show in May. So well, the end of May, so the Friday, the 30th of May, I will be down there on a panel and we will be talking about Rethinking Waste, and that is going to be with Joey Bevan as the host.

Speaker 1:

I'm really excited, excited about it. Do you know what? One thing I have noticed as well? This workshop and the being on the panel was put in place before I started this social media challenge, but what I have noticed, that more people are talking about me being on their panels or me speaking or doing events and workshops and stuff. So I've noticed that people I'm in people's faces more with the things that I'm doing, which is really great. So if you are interested to book a workshop whether it is a private function, maybe a hen party, a girls get together, a baby shower, a children's party I am doing all of those. So definitely reach out to me. Or if you know someone that wants to do just a workshop with a difference, let me know and we can definitely chop it up and do something exciting and fun and unique. Okay, back to the same with an extra podcast.

Speaker 1:

I saw a post this week. I mean, I say I saw a post this week. These posts come up. I say I saw a post this week. These posts come up all the time like real, and it was of the guy going around the supermarket and saying to people, can you buy? What was it? I think it was an apple, can you buy this apple for me? And so people are like, no, buy it yourself, go get a job. I was like, is this real? People really say no to buy the apple, but people would, though, like you know you, sometimes, you, you make your money, you know, buy your own apple.

Speaker 1:

And then he gets to the till. And this is the thing. This is what I think you gotta be mindful of where you're asking people, if people are still shopping, and you're saying, can you buy this for me? And they say, yeah, you've kind of got to wait till they're ready to pay. So really you should be asking the people that are already by the till. But anyway, he goes to a woman that's by the till and she says, yeah, sure, just put it down. And so he puts it down, she, she scans it and she's ready to pay and he said, oh, I'd like to pay for your shopping. And she's like well, how can you pay for my shopping? I've just just paid for your Apple? And he said, well, no, like I can't afford it, I just want it. It's a social experiment Bloody, bloody blah. So we know how it goes. And it made me smile and it made me chuckle at the same time.

Speaker 1:

But I've been in that situation and I did say it on this on this podcast. This was around Christmas time. I was in the supermarket with my mum and I was not far from the tills. But I was in the midst of shopping still, and this gentleman asked me if I could pay for his his cereal, I think. He had some cornflakes, no frosties and milk, and he asked could I pay for it? And I was like, yeah, cool, um, and I could tell that he was homeless. So I paid for it.

Speaker 1:

But there was, was. There was that part of me that was like where's the hidden camera? Where's my thousand pounds? And what I'm saying is just be nice to be nice. Like we don't want to be nice because it's going to come back and reward us, but also, karma is for real, for real. So do it, because it's nice to be nice, it's kind to be kind and you don't know how much people need that kindness.

Speaker 1:

Yes, for some people it genuinely is a social experiment and you're a camera. Don't be nice because people are going to cuss you in the comments if you were horrible, but genuinely, just be nice and if you have it, it's. If you have it not, you don't always have the money to pay for someone shopping or whatever, but also it's your deliverance. You might not have the funds to buy someone. Like sometimes, the response that people, the responses that people get, it's like no, buy it yourself. It's not kind. It's not kind like we don't know what's the social experiment.

Speaker 1:

Everything is being recorded now, yeah, we don't know what's the social experiment. Everything is being recorded now, yeah, we don't know what's the social experiment and what's just real life of someone genuinely needs a handout and someone needs just kindness. So be kind to be kind. And yeah, I mean, I'm still waiting. I'm still waiting for someone to offer to pay for my shopping. I'll be like go, go, grab some more stuff. I'm still waiting for my thousand pounds. Like I just want to give you a thousand pounds because you were so, you were so willing to be so nice and I'll be like, oh my god, thank you, I've been waiting for this day forever. But just be nice. Just be nice. Honestly, the world needs more kindness in it, because I don't even know what's happening. But we're.

Speaker 1:

This is not the podcast for what is happening in the world. We talk about the positivities, and that is that the world needs now is love, sweet love. That's the only thing that there's just too little of. If you don't know that song, make sure you text me and let me know that you know what song that is. And if you don't know that song, I'm a little bit disappointed. I'm not even going to lie. Someone needs to know that song.

Speaker 1:

You know that we can't have an episode of the Sophie Penetra podcast without bringing it back to manifesting and positivity and good feeling thoughts and all of that lovely, beautiful, gooey stuff that makes us feel good deep down within our souls. And this is my message for you, for yous, this week. I remember when I talk to you lot most of the time, I'm really talking to myself. Us feel good deep down within ourselves, and this is my message for you, for yous, this week. I remember when I talk to you lot. Most of the time, I'm really talking to myself, and i'ma need you to tame the inner bully. I'ma need you to tame the inner bully. And who is the inner bully?

Speaker 1:

The inner bully is that voice inside that stops you from being the best you. It's the voice that tells you you can't do that, you can't wear that, you're being too loud, you're being too this, it's all negative. It's the negative voices that stop you from doing the things you want to do being the best that you want to, being the best that you can be, being the best that you want to, being the best that you can be, being the best that you want to be. Sometimes, we're like I want to do that thing that's going to make me feel better, and then that voice is like oh, do you really want to do that though? Because if you do that, they're going to say this and they're going to think this, and we don't give a fuck to swear, we don't give a fuck what they think, because we just need to. We need to tame that inner bully. We need to tell them to shut the fuck up, actually, and we need to do the things that actually bring us joy and make us feel good when that inner bully come.

Speaker 1:

When you hear that voice come, the the way you tame it is that you just have to. You have to remember, you have to remember, you have to shake it out and you have to instantly remember to change your thoughts. You have to remember to change your thoughts. So when you hear that voice come, you have to, you have to instantly change your thoughts to positive. When that inner voice tells you you can't do that because you no, no, no, no, I can do it, I can do it. And this you no, no, no, I can do it. I can do it. And this is the reason why I can do it. I can do it because I want to do it. I can do it because I'm capable of doing it. I can do it because I've done it before. I can do it because I've seen it be done. Why can you do it?

Speaker 1:

Give yourself a reason why you can do it and lean into that best feeling for lean into how it's going to make you feel. Remember I always say this feeling is what really drives it through and drives the meaning of and the reason for why you want to do something. And then remember that the universe knows what you want and God knows what you want. And whatever you call that higher power and that higher voice, they know what you want and say to yourself no, no, no, no. The universe knows what I want and wants the best for me. God knows what I want and wants the best for me. So I can do this. Take that instantly. Tame the inner bully. Take the negative thoughts out of your head and change it with the positive thoughts and nip it in the bud instantly. If you want to take control of your life, you need to take control of your thoughts and you need to run things innit Like you need to tell your thoughts who's boss and instantly change it to be like this is me, this is what I want, and boom.

Speaker 1:

And with that said, my darlings, I feel like we've reached the end of a little quick podcast of the so flippin extra show, show, show, show, show, show. I'm feeling gas. Okay, do you know why I think I'm feeling gas? Today? My cousin called me on Friday and she was like hey, doll? And I was like hey, babe, how can I help you? And she was like I got tickets for the millennium tour, what so? So later on today, literally after I get, after I finish this podcast, I'm going to edit it, callie should be home soon and I'm going to get ready to go to the Millennium Tour.

Speaker 1:

And let me tell you who's going to be at the Millennium Tour. I already know Bow Wow's going to be there, okay. So, oh my God, ah, excited again. I've seen the names. I've actually forgot who's going to be there. So we've got Trey, songz and Marion oh my God, he's so fine Bow Wow, jeremiah, lloyd and Sammy. So that is who's going to be at the Millennium Tour.

Speaker 1:

I'm excited. I don't know what I'm going to wear, but I'm like Millennium. That's like 2000s fashion. Do I even have 2000s fashion? I don't know. All I know is I'm going to look cute duh and I'm going to have a time and I might not have a voice tomorrow because I'll be like singing all the songs. It's so exciting. So, yeah, peace out, a-town down West side is the best side. Do you believe that? Not really, but you know, I do believe that wherever I'm at, the vibe's at, and the vibe is gonna be at the Millennium Tour today, I swear I kid you not. And find every reason this week to have fun and enjoy yourself. Tame the inner bully. Tell them in Augusta, me ranting, just see me. Oh sorry, that was my mother's tongue coming out. It doesn't go like that. I own this ship and you can get out of here. I love you guys. Bye.
