The Sew Flipping Extra Podcast
EP 60: It's All Scripted!
Welcome to another Episode of the Sew Flipping Extra Podcast!
A platform for me to express, explore, connect and over all be Sew Flipping Extra... why because that brings me joy.
What if everything we thought was spontaneous about our favorite sports events was actually scripted? Inspired by the buzz around the Tyson and Jake Paul fight, I reflect on how my childhood belief in wrestling's authenticity was shattered, sparking a lifelong curiosity about what we choose to believe as real. Join me as I explore how our lives often mirror this scripted entertainment, curating moments to present the best version of ourselves to the world. There's an authenticity in embracing these spectacles for the joy they bring, even if they are orchestrated. And speaking of orchestration, there's no video podcast this week as I refine a more structured approach, but rest assured, the passion to create remains strong.
Unlock the transformative power of scripting in your life with insights drawn from over a decade of personal practice. Discover how a simple exercise in gratitude, inspired by "The Magic," turned goal-setting into an art form, and how putting pen to paper can manifest your deepest aspirations. With a touching story of helping a client declutter their wardrobe, the episode unfolds the joy of creating space for new beginnings. Rounding out with the warmth of genuine compliments, I encourage us all to champion positivity daily, uplift those around us, and celebrate the little moments with our loved ones, including my very own little one's cameo. Let's make every day phenomenal together.

So last week it was a Tyson and Paul Jake fight and everyone tuned in. I wasn't. Someone had called me or messaged me at whatever time of the morning or whatever. I was like, danny, you watching the fight? And I was like, no, what fight? What are you talking about? I didn't know. It was only when I went on social media in the morning like I realised what was going on this big fight that everyone was talking about. But Tyson lost the fight. Everyone was shocked, or not shocked. Everyone was very split. It just seemed like people were very split on the outcomes of this fight and what happened. The days after the fight came out. Social media was very split. There was a lot of speculation happening about the fight. Oh, it was scripted. I saw a lot of stuff talking about how script. Oh, it was scripted. I saw a lot of stuff talking about how scripted it. It was just a scripted fight and this one got 20k and this one got 20k or 40k, whatever it was. And I was like I don't understand that uproar and I don't understand the problem. This stuff has been scripted, it it's been been scripted. This is not the first we're learning about these big fights being scripted. It is a show. They. They're athletes, but they're also showmen.
Speaker 1:I used to be a massive fan of wrestling. So WWE or WWF, whichever one it was. When I was like seven I used to watch wrestling religiously, me and my sister. We would tune in every every weekend. That was our like. Saturday afternoon was wrestling, knew all the fighters and everything. And when they would have like the mega matches and stuff that would come on during the night, me and my sister would stay up and watch these fights and I thought it was real. I'm not even gonna lie, the acting now is way worse than it used to be. It was good before. And remember one day my uncle come in might have been a Sunday, he came, but Saturday or Sunday he came. He see my sister, my sister and I literally tuned in like engrossed. Everyone knew everyone in the family knew we love wrestling and he was like why are you not watching this anyway? It's not even real. My heart crumbled. My heart crumbled. I was like what, what, both of us? What are you not watching this anyway? It's not even real? My heart crumbled. My heart crumbled. I was like what, what, both of us? What are you talking about? He's like this isn't real. You thought this was real. It ruined it for me it really did. I'd never watched boxing. I never watched wrestling. The same after that yeah, after I just really stopped watching after a while. But it just really made me want to talk more about that.
Speaker 1:Life is scripted. Everyone is scripted in their life. We're putting the things out there that we want people to see the best parts of the script, or, if it's the worst part, it's very organised, and when I say this I'm not talking about everyone, but a lot of stuff is scripted and it's scripted for our enjoyment. So you have to take from it really what you want. We're going to talk more about this, but I'm going to do my intro first and foremost. So let's get into the podcast.
Speaker 1:Hi guys, welcome to another episode of the so Flippin' Extra podcast, a platform for me to express, explore and connect and be so flippant extra why, I hear you ask. Well, that's what brings me joy. So, without further ado, let's get into the rest of the podcast, because I think it's going to be a good one. I do say this every week and it always is Yay. So before I get into some of the topics I want to talk about this week. I also need to let you guys know that, obviously, as you can see or maybe you can't if you're a usual listener, because I know some of you guys are just listeners I didn't do a video podcast this week and the reason I didn't do a video, a visual podcast, to go on my YouTube was because I never found the time to sit down and record the episode this week and also I just didn't know, like I kind of knew I wanted to talk about, but I wanted to be a lot more structured and what it did is it left me not enough time to record earlier on in the week and my energy just wasn't there yesterday.
Speaker 1:But in the eyes of consistency, I was like, well, we're gonna keep it going. It's been an audio podcast for all this time, so we're gonna keep it audio. I'm still showing up, guys, and that's what's really important, and I want to do a shout out this week. I want to do a shout out to you guys. No one in particular, not, no, no, no one in particular this week maybe, actually, but honestly, if it wasn't for you lot that do keep coming back and do keep listening and also really just let me know, engage with the episode that you listen to and let me know that you've got something from it. I probably would keep doing this because I did say I was going to be consistent, but it really does help me just keep going and I do this for you lot, and I want to just say a massive, massive thank you for, yeah, it's like you're holding me accountable without holding me accountable and I really want to.
Speaker 1:I'm really looking at more ways to keep growing the podcast and it's my passion project that I absolutely do not get paid for but I get so much from it because I get to have great conversations and I know I'm impacting people. But I do want to monetize and that was the goal. The goal at the absolute beginning was to have it as a platform that I could monetize on at some point. So I'm really on the lookout for sponsors, people that I can introduce their brand and we can have a collaborative sponsorship on the podcast. Maybe that you maybe it's someone who has a product, maybe whoever's listening know someone who has a product and you know it could be something that they will will have a an exchange where they give me their product. I talk about the product. Obviously, having a visual podcast is really good as well, because I can show the product, do a little ad for it and, yeah, it can be exchanged. It depends what it is and what needs to be done, but, yeah, and or it could be a monetary value. So, yeah, I'm going to be looking into those things. So if you know anyone who would be interested you think would be interested maybe you have a product yourself and you would be interested definitely reach out to me and we'll have a conversation and you know whether it's on a monthly basis or just one week at a time. But, yeah, I really want to have people that I can say this episode is sponsored by. It's giving growth, it's honestly giving growth.
Speaker 1:So, yeah, let's get back to the script, guys. Let's get back to the script because it's all scripted and, to be honest, we get. That's not a bad thing when we let's turn it to ourselves now. We spoke about the fight blah, blah, blah. Whatever there's a is the script in it? Like man's making made 20 mil just to get punched about, and it's not a just not knocking the whole boxing thing. They're athletes. But he made 20 grand. So everyone getting all in uproar babes. They made their money. They made their money. They stuck to the script and they made their money. That's how it was supposed to go. It is what it is, but I love the thought of scripting.
Speaker 1:Scripting has always been something that I've really been interested in as someone who's really into the law of attraction and manifesting, and I was introduced to scripting a couple years ago by a couple way more than two, like it's probably over 10 years ago I first learned about scripting and how you can script your reality. You can script the things you want. So you know the whole law of attraction thing. One of the there's. There's a lot of writing involved. Um, the thing is a lot less people right now. So it was. You know.
Speaker 1:I would write down my gratitudes for the for the day, like every day, I would write down up to 10 things that I'm grateful for, and I remember when I first started doing it, I found it so difficult. The secret have a couple spin-off books, and the magic was one of their spin-off books and it takes you for this 30-day process of really just turning your life into this manifesting miracle like law attraction, and so that was something that I started doing and I think it was day two or three was the, or was it day one, I can't actually remember, but it was very early on in the days of you know what you had to do and you had to write 10 things that you were grateful for, and I remember the first day I tried this, I'd only really been doing about three things. I found it so because I was like 10 things, like, oh my god, by like day five, day six, it was so easy to find 10 things that now I can't unsee things that I'm grateful for. I can't unsee it like just the simplest little things. I'm like, oh my god, I'm so grateful for that. It down to just things like the driver, because he's he, he saw me running for the bus, or he could tell that I, he made eye contact and saw that I wanted to get on the bus. These are things that I would write down. Um, especially when I was going to work. Thank um, so grateful I made it into work on time. So grateful someone gave me their seat. So, like just everything, everything was something to be grateful for, which was really.
Speaker 1:But also scripting I'm pretty sure scripting was in that book. So, yeah, this was a good thing. 14, 14 years ago I would have been doing this stuff and. But scripting is great. It really is something that you can do. That just makes you feel good, like you just write out the story as you want it. You speak in the person, first person. Oh, my God, I can't remember. I really should have done my research before before going in. But you, we can.
Speaker 1:Anyone can look up scripting. You can look up scripting if it's something that you think you'd be interested in and maybe if you just feel a bit lost at the moment maybe you genuinely are feeling lost with where you're at and your goals and just the things that you want. And look up scripting and do some scripting work and really write it the way you want it to turn out. Write it the way you want it to turn out. Write it the way you want it to turn out, and the truth behind it is believe that it's going to turn out that way. You really have to have the belief, like you. There's no point in there's no, really just no point in writing it and and thinking it's not going to happen anyway. It's like doing the lottery and not believing you're going to win. Why are you wasting your money? Because lottery is not even cheap anymore. But write it and believe that it can be this way and it's gonna be this way and you're gonna get there. It's gonna change and I say that I'm glad. I'm glad I said this today, because I need to remember that. I really really need to remember that.
Speaker 1:So, if anyone's going through moments right now of just uncertainty, write it down. Write it down. Write down exactly what you want and exactly how you want it to be and how you expect it to be. And yeah, let's, let's, let's start now. We're not going to start in January, we're going to start now, because a lot of the time, especially when we come towards the end of the year, it's like in the new year I'm going to do this and the new year I'm going gonna do that. I honestly I feel like if there's anyone that's gonna join the gym or wants to join the gym, I dare you to do it before the new year. Everyone joins in the new year. I'm not actually even looking forward to my how busy my gym's gonna be come January. It's gonna be mad. I'd better get on a machine. I'll be like excuse me, you're brand new, go away. I'm joking, I won't, I won't, um, but try and just do it now. Whatever it is, change it now, any changes you want to make? No time like the present, right, no time like the present. But yeah, the script is the script, it's all scripted and yeah, let's just keep it moving.
Speaker 1:So yesterday, being Saturday, cause it's Sunday morning right now I had a client. I haven't done one of these wardrobe audits or wardrobe a wardrobe declutter in a while. So I was able. I had a new client and I went to her property and we done a wardrobe declutter and, oh my God, I I get so much from doing wardrobe declutters with you guys because it fills me with so much joy. Just it makes me feel like us. So you know, and if anyone, you might even want to hire me to do this or you might want to do it on your own you just take everything out.
Speaker 1:So we did do it separately. We done a drawer separately for my wardrobe and then she had stuff under the bed as well. So we took everything out of her drawers and just put it in a massive pile on the floor and then I got her to go through it, because this is a process that you have to. You really have to go through it and and hold the stuff and and have the memory and part with the memory if it's like I'm not really gonna wear it whether it's someone gave it to you. A lot of the times we have stuff because someone gave it to to us. She had a lot of stuff that it was like oh, my sister gave this to me, my friend bought this for me. My friend, just like people, just give her stuff which really shows how just um shows her character, that she just receives. She receives and you have to remember that as well, because you you won't go without. When you declutter, you'll make space for more of what you want anyway. But if people already are so willing to just give you so much, just always going to get more which is just so beautiful.
Speaker 1:So we put everything in a pile. She went through it and she done so well. I listen. I sent her a message off. I was like I'm so proud of you, you done so well and you just made that whole process really easy. And then, after we decided, she decided on the stuff that she want. Then we decided how we was going to organize it in her drawers just so she can find everything and see everything and knows what she's got. So there's also a process to how you fold the clothes so that you everything is just laid out and you can see it and it's so beautiful, it looks so neat. I'm gonna post a picture on my stories actually, so if anyone's interested you can see, I'll put it in my highlights, maybe. And yeah, and she was just so thankful and so grateful.
Speaker 1:And then, after we done that, we've done her wardrobes, which a few things just hung up, and it's like there was a lot of jumpers that were hung up and I was like, why do you hang up some of your jumpers? She's like I don't know. I said, okay, yeah, just fold them. And the thing with jumpers as well is when you hang them, they can lose their shape, especially if they're just in general, I was gonna say if they're heavy jumpers, but yeah, they can lose their shape. So it's really good to fold your jumpers, um, and then, yeah, like I said, every but one thing I make sure is I just want everyone to do it the way they want it to be done. You put your drawers the way you want them. If you want, um, trousers at the top, put trousers at the top, whereas I'd be like I'd have probably light, light clothes, like light tops, jumpers, trousers at the bottom, just because that's how my brain works, but whatever works for you.
Speaker 1:As I said, even when it comes to hanging clothes, I I kind of really only hang my, my dressy clothes or my good clothes, like maybe good going out clothes, or, yeah, dresses, um, and I wouldn't really hang and jackets, but I wouldn't really hang and jackets, but I wouldn't really hang anything else. But again, that is up to you. Decide how you want it to be. And I just I really work with my clients just to make them feel really comfortable. And one thing, a hundred percent, is that I don't judge. I don't judge as I sit here now and I don't have the the guts to even show it. So you, you know, you guys, until, until it changes, you're not going to see it, but I have, I have clutter.
Speaker 1:So when I declutter someone's wardrobe, dresser, drawers and they, the one of the first things they say is don't judge me. Oh, my god, I'm so embarrassed and I'm like I'm just not the one that you need to be embarrassed by, because I've been there and I'm there and I'm still working through it, but I feel like it's always easy for people to preach because they've lived the experience like I'm not. I'm not telling you guys how to do something that that I don't know need, why it needs to be done. A wardrobe declutter is not just you know, for whatever reason it's. There's so many more factors that go behind. Just doing a declutter is not just you know, for whatever reason it's. There's so many more factors that go behind just doing a declutter, one getting rid of the stuff. But it's also the the emotional side of it that we all need and I want to help people through that. So there's that's what I say all the time. That's one thing.
Speaker 1:I'm definitely not judging you because because people in glass houses should not throw stones and when it comes to the clothes and the clutter and the mess, babes, I'm in a glass house. I'm in a glass house with you, but I know what I'm talking about. The same way, I am that person that can go to someone else and help them. I just need someone to come to me. It's just, yeah, you come to me and do mine and help me with mine, and it's that buddying. Really, I don't even think it's that I need someone to come and do it. I just want someone to buddy with me and do it. So, yeah, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna pick the time out and do it. Maybe I'll do an online buddying, which is also something that I can offer as well.
Speaker 1:So, if it is, if wardrobe decluttering is something you want, you can do online, or I can come to your house and um, yeah, which also sometimes. What people also want is that they just want they have clothes, they have a wardrobe full of clothes and don't know how to put things together, and but they want to change their style, which, with things like that, I'll take you through a whole Pinterest program where I'll we'll set up a Pinterest account that I'll be linked in with you on and I'll be like show me the kind of types of styles that you're interested in. So I get you to put the kind of styles, the outfits that you like, um inspiration in your Pinterest, so that when I do a declutter with you, whether it's in person or online, I can see what you've got and be like hang on a second. Well, that looks like the style that you like. So why don't we put that with da, da, da, da and da, da, da, and then, yeah, and then anything that you may need to replace or you may need to buy it, then you can figure out where to buy it, and usually it would be second hand. I will always first second hand first for me.
Speaker 1:Um, so, whether it's finding I can find things for my clients on Vinted or, yeah, be like you can go to a charity shop. Do I do shopping for people? Um, I have before, but I think, especially with charity shops, it's not something that you can easily just bring back. I think you can, but, um, I would rather go with you to a charity shop and help you find outfits. So, yeah, I just wanted to plug that part of my business because, yeah, last year January, I really went in on the advertising of the wardrobe declutters and life was life in and it kind of fell to the side. But it's definitely something that I am still doing and I just don't plug any of my services as much as I should. And this is my platform and this is what it's here for. Like earlier I said about having supporters Girl, you need to support yourself.
Speaker 1:Today's episode is sponsored by Daddy Dawgs wardrobe decluttering, and if you are in need of a wardrobe, declutter you, make sure you holler at your girl, because I will make you feel 10 pounds lighter in your mind, your body and your soul and in your freaking drawers and you will have a wardrobe and drawers and clothes that you love. No more opening your drawers and being like, oh, why have I still got this? I haven't worn it in years. No, we're not doing that. No more. You're gonna have a wardrobe that you're absolutely gonna be in love with.
Speaker 1:Oh my god, that was a good, that was good. Oh my god, today's episode. I love it. It sounds amazing.
Speaker 1:What else have I got to say today, guys? I that was really. It was mostly that I wanted to talk about how everything is scripted and you guys are flipping amazing. You guys are absolutely amazing and I'm just so grateful for you because you keep me going, baby, you keep me going. But, yeah, right now, my kid has walked in um earlier and told me she's hungry, so I guess I better go feed her and then I'm gonna sit down and edit this episode. I can't't wait for it to go out, and I know you guys love seeing me. You guys are loving the, the YouTube videos, and I'm loving that for you guys. But, yeah, no YouTube video today, but I'll be back on it next week. And yeah, remember, let me know if you know anyone that would be interested in doing a sponsorship collaboration with your favourite dork. Love you guys.
Speaker 1:Peace out A-Town down West side is the best side. Do I believe that? How long have you been here? Not really, but what I do know is that wherever I'm at, the vibe's at and the vibe's always vibing, the vibe's always vibing where Danny D is at. And, yeah, let's vibe and let's have an amazing week and let's be absolutely phenomenal and let's share our good energy with other people and let's tell someone this week, every day, find three people that you could just tell how absolutely amazing they are. Or do the? Oh, do you know what I love doing?
Speaker 1:I love giving people a compliment. I love just giving people a compliment and saying I love this, I love that, my kids coming, what do you want? Okay, all right, baby, um, like he can't hear that I'm talking anyways, yeah, give people a compliment, a genuine compliment. It always will make someone feel good, not a fake compliment, compliment just because I'm saying give them a compliment. Sometimes we always will make someone feel good, not a fake compliment, compliment, just because I'm saying give them a compliment. Sometimes we can look at someone and think something really like oh man, I really like their shoes, I really like their hair, I really like this, I really like the way you've done your makeup, but we don't say it. So if you feel the need, if you like something that someone has, give them the frigging compliment and honestly, it makes you feel so much better as well. You feel good for making someone else feel great and that's all. Love you guys. Bye.
